A DeKalb County family is mourning the loss of two young brothers who were shot and killed Sunday evening at an apartment complex on North Hairston Road, according to their mother. Ja'hki Clark, 12, and Ja'marion Rolle, 11, were shot around 6 p.m. during what their mother described as a violent escalation tied to a fight that broke out after a football game earlier in the week. She said the family of those involved in that altercation showed up at their home Sunday during a cookout, and the confrontation turned into gunfire. Ja'marion died at the scene, while Ja'khi was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The boys' mother said two other relatives were also shot and remain hospitalized at Grady Memorial in need of surgery — her 17-year-old pregnant niece, who was shot three times, and the niece's mother. The family is anxious about the health of the unborn baby. Investigators say the suspects fled before police arrived, and the mother has turned over surveillance video to DeKalb County police. No arrests have been announced. Ja'khi attended Stone Mountain Middle School and Ja'marion attended Stone Mill Elementary School. Both schools have made grief counselors available for students this week.
