Montclair-raised, independently minded, and not content to stay in one lane, Dre' from Jerz makes hip-hop and R&B that doubles as world-building. He started out as a songwriter and recording artist, but he says he was always drawn to something bigger than the song itself — the idea of creating complete worlds around the music. That fascination has since pulled him into audio production, visual storytelling, and independent media, reshaping how he thinks about what a "release" even is. That expansion is now taking shape through Elexo, an original urban micro-drama Dre' is preparing to launch that blends cinematic storytelling with music and experimental visuals. Its first episode, "Some Things Happen," is set to premiere October 9. Rather than treating music as background noise for the series, he's building it into the project's identity — including an upcoming R&B-leaning entry called "Velvet on Ten" that lives inside the Elexo world. He's not stopping there. Dre' is also developing a second original series, Chrono-Knight, and both projects fall under a visual storytelling approach he calls Artistic Vizion™ — a concept he says will reveal itself through the work rather than through explanation upfront. Across all of it, Dre' describes his guiding intent simply: he wants the music to feel like an experience, not disposable content. Emotion, atmosphere, accountability, relationships, an adult perspective on life — those are the threads he's chasing, whether they show up in a verse or a scene. For Dre' from Jerz, music, film, and digital media aren't separate pursuits competing for attention — they're pieces of one ongoing creative practice. With Elexo's first episode on the way and Chrono-Knight already in development, Atlanta audiences curious about where hip-hop storytelling can go next have a new independent voice worth watching.
