Pushin Pooh doesn't fit neatly into one lane, and she's not trying to. The East Atlanta artist, who also goes by P and Ms. DMMM, calls her genre "Pain Music," a term that captures how much of her life ends up in her lyrics.
Her path into music started early, singing in chorus and honor chorus at McNair before she began writing and rapping. She remembers the moment things shifted: a studio session where everyone in the room got visibly emotional over what she'd written. That reaction told her this was something to take seriously. Her mother and her manager, @diamondxhayee, remain her biggest inspirations, alongside the kids she teaches every day — she's an Early Childhood Educator and Head Start preschool teacher who tells her students they can be anything they set their minds to, even if they don't know she's an artist outside the classroom.
That dual life is central to who she is. Pushin Pooh describes her music as a mix of confidence, vulnerability, sexuality, and resilience, and she wants listeners to walk away understanding that hard times don't have to define you. She likes to point to an image: a flower blooming in the middle of the hood, surrounded by beer cans and debris, still pushing through.
She's currently developing a reality game show that will use her music as its soundtrack, folding her artistry into a bigger entertainment concept rather than promoting it separately. Her upcoming project, Serpents Never Prevail, is slated for a February 2027 release and explores betrayal, survival, and transformation through a serpent-inspired world.
Fans in Atlanta can catch an early piece of that vision on October 17, when she hosts a casting call for the TV project, with roughly $750 on the line for participants.
