Angelique Bates has spent nearly three decades building a career that refuses to be defined by any single role. A Los Angeles native of Haitian and Bahamian descent, she first became widely known as an original cast member of Nickelodeon's "All That," working alongside Kel Mitchell, Kenan Thompson and Lori Beth Denberg on one of the network's most influential comedy shows. That early start in entertainment set the tone for a career built on reinvention.
Since then, Bates has expanded into acting, stand-up comedy, producing, music and public relations. Now splitting her time between Los Angeles and South Metro Atlanta, she is co-founder of Melting Pot Management & Public Relations, where she works with talent, brands and entertainment projects spanning music, television, film and live events. Her PR work has touched artists and creatives including Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, actor and recording artist Chaz Shepherd, recording artist Wildlyfe 1Hunnud and beauty influencer Tonya Renee Meisenbach, among others. She credits her years as talent herself with giving her a rare perspective on both sides of the industry.
Bates remains an active performer, continuing to act and do stand-up while producing her annual birthday benefit comedy and music show in Los Angeles, All That & A Bag of Jokes, this year headlined by comedian Alex Thomas and hosted by T. Barbs. On the music side, she's working on an album with Kevontay Jackson of 3rd Storee and Everybody Hates Chris, building on their single "Complicated," alongside a holiday track, "Jolly Holiday," with LaTangela Newsome and JAHSOUL.
Bates says her biggest inspiration comes from her children and from people who keep moving forward despite adversity. As a mental health advocate, she speaks openly about her experiences as a former child performer and the realities young talent can face. Her message for others: one chapter doesn't define an entire career, and there's no such thing as the "right time" to use your gifts.
