IX Nino Stackz didn't start out chasing a rap career — he started out messing around with software. As a kid at his auntie Keta's apple boutique, he watched his uncle KP work through FL Studio, and something clicked. That early curiosity turned into a lasting obsession with making music, one that's carried him from Memphis bedrooms to his own catalog of releases. His style pulls from street narratives and lived experience, mixing a gritty, aggressive delivery with melodic touches — a combination that's shaped a steady run of projects, many released under or alongside the DGS imprint before he began working with The Liquid Chrome / Terrific Tunes. That collective, he says, is one of his biggest inspirations, right alongside family: his grandfather Johnny Allen and his cousins Azya and Kenny. Most recently, IX Nino Stackz dropped "IX Luv" on his birthday, September 16th, and he's already looking ahead to what he calls his best work yet — an album titled "The Life Of R5." Details are still under wraps, but he's made clear he's aiming high with it. Whatever the project, the goal behind his music stays consistent. He says he's always in a good mood when he's creating, and he wants that feeling to transfer directly to whoever's listening — music as a mood-lifter, plain and simple. Memphis fans will get a chance to feel that energy live on October 30th, when IX Nino Stackz takes the stage at Hi-Tone from 8pm to 1am. Tickets are available through The Liquid Chrome's Instagram bio. For an artist who got his start just messing with software for fun, it's a full-circle moment — turning that early spark into a room full of people vibing with him in real time.
