Demetrius Franklin, known professionally as Kaddy Exclusive, grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by music. His father, Pat Franklin, was a saxophonist who worked on projects with major artists and later served as a music minister at a large church in Grand Prairie, Texas — a space that today houses a studio named in his honor. That environment shaped Kaddy Exclusive from an early age, as his father groomed him as a singer. He started performing as young as the 4th grade, singing in church choir, at birthday parties, special events, and singing contests, gradually developing an animated, lyrical delivery and a style he describes as blending east coast influence with southern dominance. In August 2015, he took that sound to American Idol auditions at Temple University in Philadelphia, advancing through four rounds among thousands of hopefuls before being cut before the finals — an experience he says confirmed he belonged in the industry and needed to keep refining his craft. Since then, Kaddy Exclusive has built out his professional foundation, earning a bachelor's degree in business finance with a minor in clinical psychology, along with a recording arts certification from Full Sail University. He now serves as CEO and President of Making The Mogul Ink LLC, working as a business consultant and agent while continuing his own career as a published songwriter and recording artist. He's also connected with what he calls Exclusive Creative Circles, a network of writers, producers, and artists tied to major labels. His father's passing in January 2013 became a driving force behind his path forward. Franklin cites his father and family legacy, along with historical leaders who unified people, as his core inspirations. Currently, he's developed a multi-season docuseries concept titled "Battle Cry From the Dying War Machines," aimed at bringing together testimonies from veterans, law enforcement, gang members, and civilians affected by combat and violence. He says the project reflects his larger goal: using his platform and message with intention.
