For Cartersville native Kendricke Brown, music was never a side interest — it was the family language. Growing up, he watched his father book shows for major acts during his time in the Air Force, and holidays in the Brown household were built around music. His father had once pursued being an artist himself, part of a group before he shifted focus to raising a family. Kendricke has spent his career, in a sense, picking up where his dad left off. That throughline shows up in how he talks about inspiration, too. Ask him what's driven him this far, and the answer isn't a song or a scene — it's family. "We've been through so much, and without their support and love, I wouldn't have made it this far," he says. Known previously as K-Major, Brown has built a reputation behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer. Now he's rebranding under his own name, Kendricke Brown, as he steps forward as a solo R&B artist. It's a shift he describes as chasing something that's been the goal since day one: finding his core audience as a performer, not just a writer for other people's records. Lyrically, Brown says he leans into honesty and vulnerability, with a simple aim — to remind listeners that being different is more than okay. He wants his music to push people toward self-love and away from chasing trends, encouraging fans to lead rather than follow. With a new artist bio in the works to match the rebrand, Kendricke Brown is entering this next chapter on his own terms — an R&B voice out of Cartersville with a story rooted firmly in family, and eyes set on connecting directly with an audience that's been waiting for him to step out front.
