A federal jury in Los Angeles found Chicago rapper Lil Durk not guilty Friday of murder-for-hire, stalking and conspiracy charges tied to a 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center that killed a cousin of Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors alleged Durk, born Durk Banks, set in motion a plot to stalk and kill Quando Rondo, whose legal name is Tyquian Bowman, in the aftermath of the 2020 killing of Durk's close friend and fellow rapper King Von. The shooting instead struck and killed a relative of Bowman's on Aug. 19, 2022. Jurors deliberated for three days before clearing Durk of every count against him, a verdict that could have carried a life sentence. His co-defendants, David Lindsey and Deandre Wilson, were convicted on stalking and conspiracy charges but acquitted of murder-for-hire. The verdict doesn't close out Durk's legal troubles. He still faces separate federal racketeering charges alleging his OTF label operated as a violent criminal enterprise, with that case still pending.
