Lyric The Art's musical education started in church pews in Akron, Ohio, watching her grandmother — well-known around the city for her singing — take the lead. That early exposure pulled her into choirs, solos, tell-it shows, and citywide performances, planting the roots of what would become a genre-blending career in R&B, pop, Afrobeats, Jersey Club, and soul. Her path since has wound through the United States Air Force, where she continued performing during her service, and onto stages including a National Anthem performance for the VA Annual Homeless Stand Down and an opening slot at the Denim Festival in Erwin, North Carolina, at the invitation of the city's mayor. She's opened for Slim of 112 and worked alongside producer Chris Parker of Bang Village, racking up more than 50 live performances along the way. Now, Lyric The Art is looking beyond her own mic. She's developing a platform designed to streamline songwriting pitch packages, connecting writers like herself directly with industry executives — an effort to create real opportunities for talented songwriters who don't always get a straight line to the room. It's a natural extension of an artist who pairs commanding vocals with emotionally honest songwriting centered on love, confidence, healing, and personal evolution. That evolution is front and center on her upcoming album, Becoming Her, which explores divine femininity, vulnerability, and emotional maturity. Fans should keep an eye out for its release. Ask her what drives all of it, and the answer isn't industry ambition — it's her sons. She wants them to know they can do anything they set their minds to, and she'd rather show them than tell them. Her message to listeners follows the same logic: be yourself, break the status quo, and do something with the one life you're given.
