The Sweet Auburn Music Fest returns to the Historic Auburn Avenue District September 26-27, running 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days with free admission.
The festival spreads across four stages along Sweet Auburn, mixing R&B, hip-hop and gospel acts in a lineup organizers describe as spanning up-and-coming performers alongside established genre veterans. Past years have leaned on the neighborhood's history as a center of Black business and culture, and this year's event continues that theme with an international food court and space set aside for local art vendors and small business owners.
The fest has grown into one of the fall's larger free music gatherings in the city, drawing crowds to a stretch of Atlanta that played a defining role in the civil rights era and remains a hub for Black-owned businesses today.
A full artist lineup had not been announced as of this week, with organizers expected to release performer details closer to the event.
